PW Salons
In order to offer our writers more deliberate, planned writing time, Peninsula Writers would like to begin offering Writing Salons. Writing Salons (sometimes called Write-ins) are just writing time away from the hustle and bustle of writers’ lives, offered at least once a month at various members’ homes or other chosen venues. Writers gather for a half an hour to socialize, followed by silent writing time. Phones are turned off; Facebook is not checked. One and a half hours later, the Salon is over and everyone packs up and goes home.
This is not the same as a small writing group where writing is shared to give or receive feedback. This is just time to write.
Peninsula Writers UFO Project
Do you have a UFO? This is an Un-Finished Object, which might be sitting uneasily in a drawer somewhere, neglected, sad, perhaps whispering to you in your sleep, distracting you, nagging you, demanding your attention, demanding to be finished once and for all!
.
For our purposes, the UFO needs to be a writing project. Through the month of April we challenge you to pick up one of your old projects and finish it! Cerise will have a PW UFO community on Facebook in early April. Join up, check in, report your progress and see how everybody else is doing. There might even be an in-person gathering at the end of the month share and celebrate. email Cerise at cerisefuhrman@att.net for more details.
